Elinor

HI! I'm Elinor and I want to share some of the beautiful photographs I've taken and some of the fascinating things I've seen as I've wandered around Shipley Glen and further afield!

Baby wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) in nest on canal towpath near Saltaire, July 2016. Golden Plover (Pluvialis apricaria) seen on the moor between Haworth and Hebden Bridge, May 2016. Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) near Hirst Wood lock, June 2016. Young Magpie (Pica pica) in my Shipley garden, May 2016. Robin (Erithacus rubecula) in Hirst Wood 'Nature Reserve', June 2016. Light Emerald moth (Campaea margaritaria) in my Shipley garden, July 2016. Male Large Skipper butterfly (Ochlodes sylvanus) in Shipley Glen, near Bracken Hall, July 2016. Males have a black line on each forewing. These contain special scales which produce pheromones to attract females.
